Yesterday was our second wedding anniversary. We'd planned to go out to dinner at a bean-friendly place in the
nabe. We first tried for the garden at Franny's, but that was too long of a wait, so we went to a little Italian place on 5
th Ave. The first picture says enough about how the rest of the evening went. Yep. Just as our drinks arrived, the bean was in wailing mode. A couple of weeks ago, a quick walk up and down the block remedied any outbursts and put the little guy right to sleep, but that trick doesn't work anymore. After a diaper change, a number of attempts at feeding, and other normally reliable ways to calm him failed, we told the waiter that we'd take our food to go and headed home. In that same moment, a thunderstorm was moving through the area, and we got caught in the downpour a few blocks from home. We dodged into a little restaurant for a soda (of course it was a BYOB joint, so we couldn't have a drink!), until the rain subsided. We finally ate our anniversary dinner at 11:00 p.m. while watching Rachel
Maddow. There is a silver lining, however. Mason slept for over 4 hours when he finally went down.
We went to our mommies group today at
Boing, which was fun. One of the moms had a sling that we tried out. Mason fell right to sleep when I put him in it, so of course I had to buy one. He looks especially cute in it.
The last picture is the little Asian baby I mentioned in a prior post. Her name is Maya, and she is adorable.
